culinary er... excellence?
There is nothing quite like a really good bolognaise.
No, I mean it. I stand by this statement. I realise that ethically I should be a vegetarian and I'm sure this recipe would taste just as good with Quorn, but I just made a bloody good pasta sauce last night and am going to take a moment of domestic satisfaction...
The red wine I put in it was frankly crap and only usable for cooking anyway, and I'm never quite sure reading the dutch translations on food exactly what type of meat I was putting in it... but I hummed my way around the kitchen for a good hour, listening to the Amelie soundtrack and doing yummy things like chopping garlic and stirring sauce.
Cooking is very therapeutic. Perhaps I should start making more of an effort rather than my usual diet of cereal and toasted sandwiches.
