Good news for the human rights activist in me

Got a great email today from the International Campaign for Tibet. Check it out at my little contribution to humanitarian activism: www.tibetcampaign.blogspot.com

Funny that it came today after I got all motivated last night and sent emails to the Ecuador Prime Minister about their environmental policy and one about saving orangutans in Borneo (I'm selling raffle tickets for the WWF right now to support conservation efforts in Borneo. The prize is a trip for 2 to go see the orangutans there and I'm wishing I had enough money to buy all of them!).

Goes to show that even though we think that we can't possibly make a difference, maybe even in the tiniest way we actually can.

I like that thought.

autumn colours

My flatmate took this fantastic photo of the leaves turning for the autumn in our new back garden.
The bug is called 'Malcolm'...

an afternoon in photos

remember how I wrote about that great chilled afternoon a month ago, back when the weather was still balmy and perfect and before my bank balance started having a nervous breakdown?

Well, Mike emailed me the photos today, and since I currently have no 'puter of my own (due to a certain boy spending too many hours last year leaving my ancient old laptop on downloading stuff although he never would have admitted it as being the reason)... um, where was I... since I have no computer right now I can't leave photos on Maddy's forever, so here they are for your amusement. Me, Amanda & Mike, a saxophone playing tightrope walking busker outside the National Theatre, and a swing class under a pergoda with Ella Fitzgerald on a sunday afternoon...
